It was built in 2001 to protect the urban area around Hiroshima City from flooding and to provide a stable supply of drinking water. It is the second tallest arch dam in Japan.
It is a place rich in nature surrounded by mountains. Each season of spring, summer, fall and winter, the scenery and appearance of the mountains change, so you can see each expression whenever you go.
