The Hiroshima City Environmental Bureau Naka Factory is a waste incineration plant located in Hiroshima City. A waste incineration plant previously located on the same site was replaced in 2004 due to aging. This work utilizes a waste disposal facility, which tends to have a negative image, in a positive way by creating a museum-like display space. It won the BCS Award in 2005 and the Public Architecture Award in 2008.
