Hi there! Today, I want to talk about two rogue-like action games that have completely captivated me, each for over 100 hours: Hades and Hades II.
Addictive Action Where Repetition Is Never a Chore
Both Hades and Hades II fall into the “rogue-like” genre. This means dying repeatedly and starting over is part of the game, but it’s not a chore at all. In fact, it makes you want to say, “Just one more try!”—it’s that addictive.
I can confidently say the biggest reason for this is the crisp, satisfying action. Attacks, dodges, abilities… everything feels incredibly responsive and smooth to control. The thrill of avoiding enemy attacks and counter-attacking in a split second is exceptional. The more you play, the more you feel your skills improving, which keeps you reaching for the next challenge.

Memorable BGM and Captivating Characters
Beyond the action, the BGM and sound effects are superb. The in-combat music cranks up your excitement, and the sound effects enhance the feeling of every hit. Playing with headphones truly immerses you even deeper into the experience.
And you can’t talk about these games without mentioning the charm of their characters. The gods and figures, inspired by Greek mythology, are all wonderfully unique, and every line of dialogue draws you in. The stories that unfold through your conversations with them also serve as motivation for repeated playthroughs. The character designs are brilliant too; every character leaves a lasting impression.
Hades II: New Challenges and Future Expectations
When I first played Hades II, I’ll admit I was a bit puzzled by the new action elements. It took some time to get used to the different systems and abilities compared to the first game, but once I did, it became incredibly fun! It maintains the strengths of its predecessor while introducing new mechanics that keep players engaged.
Currently, Hades II is available in early access, but there are rumors that the full version will be released soon. I’m really looking forward to seeing how the complete game turns out. I’m sure it will bring new discoveries and another 100+ hours of “unstoppable” fun!
If you haven’t played them yet, I highly recommend diving into the addictive action and captivating world of Hades and Hades II. I’m sure you’ll find time flying by, just like I did!
