Matsue Castle is designated as a national treasure in Japan. It is one of only twelve remaining castles in Japan that has been preserved in its original form.
There are many castles in Japan, but most of them have been rebuilt in recent years. The exterior of these castles still look like they did in the past, but the interior is made of concrete, and some of them have elevators.(That’s an interesting experience in itself.)
Matsue Castle is still there as it was over 400 years ago.
It’s exciting to imagine the samurai of that time operating here.
You can take a boat tour through the large moat surrounding the castle.
This is a very enjoyable experience.
